Basilea Consulting
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to strengthen the fire service through practical community risk reduction training that builds competency, confidence, and accountability among suppression and prevention professionals.

We envision a fire service in which every department—regardless of size or resources—operates from a shared, elevated standard of prevention competency, professional judgment, and public trust.
Integrity
"Virtue before Progress"
Living out integrity means we do not trade standards for convenience or credibility for growth. We accept difficulty, delay, or loss rather than compromise our ethics or professional responsibility. Our decisions reflect a commitment to doing what is right for its own sake.
Resilience
"Growth through Challenge"
Resilience recognizes that meaningful learning is achieved through effort. We design and deliver training that challenges learners and plans for failure in low-stakes environments to prepare for success when it matters most. We remain adaptable and committed to continuous improvement rather than perfection.
Radiance
"Light and Warmth"
Being radiant means bringing light to risk and warmth to uncertainty. We exist to clarify ambiguity and build confidence through knowledge and practice. We provide insight that informs action and support that strengthens the professionals and communities we serve.

Let's see what we can do - Together
Basilea Consulting was established by Brennen Henry in 2023 with the goal of changing how we think about training in fire prevention roles. As firefighting increasing becomes a more complex issue, the industry is shifting towards community risk reduction - not just to save lives and property, but to limit the exposure of our firefighters to career-ending incidents, or, more likely, carcinogens that reduce longevity and quality of life. We're here for the public; we're here for the department; and we're here for you.
IF NOT ME, THEN WHO?
I started the Prevention Training Officer program because I saw a gap in the industry that no one would fill.

I’ve been in the fire service since 2012, beginning as an education coordinator teaching fire safety to kids. Soon after, I became a fire prevention inspector, and today I serve as a lead worker in the industry. Over the years, one thing has remained constant: there is always more to learn. Fire prevention is a dynamic profession—codes change, technology advances, and communities place greater expectations on us every year. To serve well, we have to keep learning - or we'll be left behind, leaving our departments and our communities vulnerable.

What I found frustrating was the lack of consistent opportunities for professional development in our field. I was fortunate to be surrounded by mentors and industry experts; but many departments don’t have access to that level of experience. Finally, I was forced to ask: "If not me, then who?" So I created a program designed to bring high-quality training to inspectors everywhere—accessible, relevant, and grounded in real-world fire prevention work.

One of the best parts of this program has been meeting with fire marshals, inspectors, and prevention leaders across the country and learning from the way you approach your work. Those conversations remind me that we all share the same goal: safer communities through better prevention. I’d love to connect and hear your story. The coffee’s on me.
